Job summary

CareChoice Group Ireland is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to support daily kitchen operations in our care homes. You will help keep the kitchen and dining areas clean, ensure safe food storage, and assist the Head Chef with food preparation and hygiene routines.

This role emphasizes HACCP compliance, infection control, teamwork and professional presentation, with day shifts and weekend work. Training and development opportunities are provided in a supportive, resident-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or care kitchen is preferred.
• Familiarity with HACCP and food safety guidelines.
• Able to work in a healthcare environment with residents.

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean and hygienic.
• Ensure proper storage and safe handling of food and cleaning products.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and assist the Head Chef.
• Wash crockery and maintain supply for meals on time.
• Practice infection control and manual handling procedures.
• Communicate with nursing staff and team; attend meetings.
• Participate in mandatory training and appraisals.
