Great National Hotel Ballina is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team on-site at Ballina, Co. Mayo. The role offers full-time or part-time hours and opportunities to learn under senior kitchen staff in a busy hotel environment.

The ideal candidate shows a genuine interest in food, with basic HACCP awareness and a willingness to learn. Training may be provided to the right person who can work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• No formal culinary qualification required; training possible for suitable candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to required standard.
• Follow approved recipes, portion controls and menu specifications.
• Prepare and organise workstation before and after service.
• Maintain cleanliness, food hygiene and personal presentation.
