Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel in Ireland is seeking a Commis chef to support the chefs, assist in preparation, cooking and plating while upholding top culinary standards. You will work closely with the kitchen team to deliver dishes that meet our quality expectations.

The role offers training, development and progression within GN Group nationwide, with shifts including evenings and weekends. HACCP trained candidates preferred and a professional, team-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role (hotel preferred).
• HACCP trained and hygiene-focused.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Team player, flexible with shifts and reliable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of dishes in line with hotel recipes and quality standards.
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, including maintaining clean and organised workstations.
• Ensure high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness are followed at all times.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
• Help monitor stock levels and assist with stock rotation and kitchen organisation.
• Maintain consistency in food preparation, presentation, and portion control.
• Take part in ongoing training and development to build culinary skills and knowledge.
• Support the Head Chef and senior chefs with daily kitchen operations and menu preparation.
