Job summary

INIT Ltd in Maynooth, Ireland, is seeking a Java developer to design, implement, and maintain features for our AVL, ITCS, and electromobility control center software. You will work on international projects and collaborate with teams across Germany.

The role requires Java expertise and a clear understanding of modern backend technologies. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of hands-on Java development, experience with JPA and PostgreSQL, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2+ years’ industry experience with object-oriented software development based on Java.
• Experience in Java Persistence API and relational databases such as PostgreSQL would be a plus.
• High commitment, team spirit and motivation to assume responsibility in a Scrum development team.
• Availability for occasional business travel to our HQ in Karlsruhe, Germany.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java source code for the implementation of new features and maintenance of existing ones.
• Enhance our control center software for AVL, ITCS, and electromobility applications.
• Software development includes analysis, design, implementation and testing for international projects.
• Take responsibility for specific software modules and integrate into the overall system.
• Collaborate with development and projects teams in the HQ in Germany.
• Use technologies including Java, JPA, Spring, REST, Maven; PostgreSQL; containers (Kubernetes, Docker); Loki, Grafana and Wiremock.

Your responsibilities:

• You will develop and maintain Java source code for both the implementation of new features and the maintenance of existing ones.
• The focus will be on enhancing our control center software for automated vehicle location (AVL), intermodal transport control system (ITCS) and electromobility applications
• Software development will include analysis, design, implementation and testing for our international projects
