Version 1 is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our team in Ireland. This role requires expertise in Java development, AWS, database management, and batch processing to design, develop, and maintain applications that meet business needs.

Key responsibilities include designing scalable Java applications, deploying cloud solutions with AWS, optimizing SQL performance, building batch systems, and mentoring junior developers within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years’ Java development experience in a product/services environment.
• Experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and Event Bus.
• Strong SQL skills and relational DB performance troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring, Hibernate, RESTful APIs.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration.
• Python experience (≥2 years).

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our team. This role requires experience in Java development, AWS, database management, and batch processing. As a Java Developer, you will contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining applications that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java applications
• Use AWS services to build and deploy cloud-based solutions, supporting availability and scalability
• Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, write SQL queries, and improve performance
• Develop and maintain batch processing systems to handle large volumes of data
• Maintain code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to standards
• Work with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA engineers, and developers
• Identify and resolve performance issues and bugs
• Support junior developers through knowledge sharing and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years’ experience as a Java Developer in a product development or services environment
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and Event Bus
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), including SQL and performance troubleshooting
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience with batch processing frameworks and tools
• Python experience (minimum 2 years)
