Job summary

Homecare Medical is seeking an experienced IT Systems Manager to lead the IT Department and contribute to the development of the technology strategy. Based in Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo, this permanent, full-time role reports to the Managing Director and covers IT leadership, project delivery, and modern workplace initiatives.

You will oversee IT infrastructure, manage a team, and align technology with business goals while ensuring security, disaster recovery, and high availability across systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Five years of experience in project management or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the IT team, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
• Ensure IT department meets goals and objectives.
• Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
• Ensure security of IT infrastructure, data protection, and disaster recovery plans.
• Manage network and server performance for high availability.
• Plan and execute IT projects on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand IT needs and provide solutions.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot IT issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging IT trends and technologies.
• Evaluate and select vendors for IT services and products.
• Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
• Monitor vendor performance and SLAs.
• Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of services and products.
• Resolve vendor issues and disputes effectively.
• Work with department managers to design and implement modern workplace solutions.
• Integrate cloud tools to support remote/hybrid working environments.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration using modern technologies.
• Keep up to date with workplace technology trends and improvements.
• Manage organizational data and contribute to service development.
