Job summary

Adecco is seeking an IT Infrastructure Architect to join a high-performing technology team in Dublin. The role focuses on designing, delivering, and evolving enterprise-scale on-premises and hybrid infrastructure, with opportunities to support cloud transformation and automation initiatives.

The position offers a permanent contract, a hybrid work model, and a focus on resilience, security, and modernization across data centre technologies and virtualization platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale on-premises/hybrid infra.
• Strong data centre, networking, compute/server, storage, and security skills.
• Experience designing hybrid cloud architectures, especially Azure.
• Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and Windows/Linux.
• Familiarity with scripting, automation, and CI/CD.
• Ability to communicate complex tech to diverse audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Architect to join a high-performing technology team responsible for designing, delivering, and evolving enterprise-scale infrastructure platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to influence technology strategy, lead critical infrastructure initiatives, and drive the modernization of a hybrid IT environment.

Working across multiple business-critical programmes, you will be responsible for architecting secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions that support current operations while enabling future growth. The role focuses primarily on on-premises and hybrid infrastructure environments, with increasing opportunities to support cloud transformation and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop target-state infrastructure architectures across on-premises and hybrid environments.
• Architect end-to-end solutions covering compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and security platforms.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations that align with business and technology objectives.
• Partner with business stakeholders, technology leaders, security teams, and operational functions to ensure architectural decisions support strategic goals.
• Develop infrastructure standards, design principles, and architectural governance practices.
• Contribute to long-term infrastructure roadmaps, lifecycle management strategies, and technology investment planning.
• Provide technical leadership across infrastructure transformation and modernization programmes.
• Act as a subject matter expert within data centre technologies, virtualization platforms, and enterprise infrastructure services.
• Drive adoption of automation, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
• Embed resilience, monitoring, business continuity, disaster recovery, and security considerations into infrastructure designs.
• Support cloud adoption strategies while ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure environments.

Key Requirements & Experience

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions within on-premises, hybrid, or multi-site environments.
• Strong technical expertise across:
  • Data centre infrastructure
  • Enterprise networking
  • Compute and server technologies
  • Storage platforms
  • Infrastructure security
• Experience designing hybrid cloud architectures, ideally within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMware, Azure Local, and Hyper-V.
• Experience working across both Windows and Linux server environments.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools, scripting, and CI/CD deployment practices.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of enterprise data platforms and data architecture principles.
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, governance, and industry best practices.
• Experience applying architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or other enterprise architecture methodologies.
• Experience working within highly regulated or mission-critical environments.
• Relevant certifications such as:
  • Microsoft Azure Certifications
  • VMware VCP
  • TOGAF
  • Infrastructure or Cloud Architecture certifications
