Skillsource is recruiting an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing technology team. You will support on-premise and cloud infrastructure across multiple sites, focusing on reliability, security, and performance of critical IT services.

The role covers Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructure, networking, connectivity, and security, with opportunities to contribute to infrastructure projects and ongoing digital transformation.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Strong networking skills including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
• Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and connectivity issues.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking equipment, firewalls, and related infrastructure.
• Support the deployment and commissioning of IT environments across multiple locations.
• Manage connectivity, wireless networks, and end-user infrastructure.
• Contribute to infrastructure upgrades and refresh initiatives.
• Deploy and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, networking, and storage.
• Support hybrid infrastructure environments connecting cloud and on-premise systems.
• Monitor performance, availability, and reliability of cloud services.
• Troubleshoot networking and connectivity issues across multiple sites.
• Work with external providers to maintain service availability and performance.

Skillsource is supporting a leading engineering and project delivery organisation in the appointment of an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing technology team supporting both on‑premise and cloud‑based infrastructure across multiple sites and business locations. The role will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical IT services while contributing to a range of infrastructure and transformation projects.

The successful candidate will work across hybrid environments, supporting infrastructure, networking, cloud services, connectivity, and security technologies within a fast‑paced project‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Deployment & Support

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking equipment, firewalls, and related infrastructure
• Support the deployment and commissioning of IT environments across multiple locations
• Manage connectivity, wireless networks, and end‑user infrastructure
• Contribute to infrastructure upgrades and refresh initiatives

Azure Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure

• Deploy and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, networking, and storage
• Support hybrid infrastructure environments connecting cloud and on‑premise systems
• Manage and maintain secure VPN connectivity
• Monitor performance, availability, and reliability of cloud services

Networking & Connectivity

• Troubleshoot networking and connectivity issues across multiple sites
• Support routing, switching, firewall, and VPN technologies
• Work with external providers to maintain service availability and performance
• Ensure resilient and secure connectivity across the organisation

Security & Operational Support

• Implement and maintain infrastructure security best practices
• Support patching, upgrades, backup, restore, and disaster recovery activities
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability
• Assist with compliance and security initiatives as required

Documentation & Asset Management

• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation
• Manage asset records and inventory
• Support reporting on system performance, incidents, and utilisation

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

• Strong experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud infrastructure
• Strong networking skills including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies
• Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and connectivity issues
• Strong documentation and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and across multiple locations

Desirable

• Azure networking experience, including VPN and ExpressRoute
• PowerShell or other automation/scripting experience
• Knowledge of infrastructure security best practices
• Experience supporting project‑based environments
