Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment in Ireland is seeking an experienced stores/inventory coordinator for hospital supplies. You will receive deliveries, record stock movements and ensure departments have what they need.

Responsibilities

• Conduct stocktakes, investigate discrepancies and report issues.
• Monitor expiry dates and maintain safe, organised storage.
• Liaise with procurement and clinical staff to resolve shortages.
• Perform admin duties and comply with health, safety and confidentiality rules.

Job description

The role involves receiving, recording and distributing supplies, maintaining accurate stock records and helping ensure clinical departments have the materials needed for patient care. Candidates should have practical stores experience and be confident using stock management software.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation, following up shortages or discrepancies.
• Accurately record receipts, stock issues, returns and transfers on the hospital's stock management system.
• Pick and distribute supplies to departments and maintain agreed stock and top-up levels.
• Use Genesis inventory software and barcode scanning equipment to record stock movements and support Scan4Safety processes.
• Carry out stocktakes and cycle counts, investigate differences between physical stock and system records, and report unresolved discrepancies.
• Monitor expiry dates, rotate stock and maintain safe, organised storage areas.
• Liaise with Procurement, Stores and clinical staff to resolve supply queries and elevate shortages promptly.
• Undertake associated administrative duties and comply with hospital health and safety, infection prevention and confidentiality requirements.

Essential experience and skills

• Relevant experience in stores, warehousing, inventory control or a supplies function.
• Practical experience using stock management, purchasing or warehouse software.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and accurate data entry.
• Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of recording every stock movement.
• Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills, with the ability to prioritise requests and work independently.
• Reevant qualification, or relevant experience demonstrating equivalent skills.

Desirable

• Experience in a hospital or healthcare supplies environment.
• Familiarity with Genesis, agresso,Scan4Safety or similar barcode-based inventory systems.
• Experience investigating stock discrepancies and maintaining replenishment systems.
