Job summary

Pearse Professionals are supporting a well-backed business in Ireland with an experienced Interim Finance Director to lead the finance function on a contract basis. This is a hands-on, senior role designed to step in quickly, bring order and pace, and give the leadership team and investors confidence during a busy period.

The role reports to the board and encompasses ownership of financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering with the leadership team, while

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience as Finance Director or senior finance leadership role.
• Track record of operating at pace in fast-moving or transactional environments.
• Confident leader with clear communication to the board.
• Familiarity with the Irish market required.
• Available at short notice with strong on-site presence.

Responsibilities

• Own the finance function, including financial reporting and month-end close.
• Manage cash and working capital.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting.
• Partner with leadership team to drive business performance.
• Strengthen controls and processes across finance.
• Be the key contact for investors, lenders, and auditors.

The role

Reporting to the board, you will take full ownership of the finance function, including:

• Financial reporting and month-end close
• Cash and working capital management
• Budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting
• Business partnering with the leadership team
• Strengthening controls and processes
• Acting as the key point of contact for investors, lenders, and auditors

What we're looking for

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Prior experience as a Finance Director or in a senior finance leadership role
• Track record of operating at pace in a fast-moving or transactional environment, ideally private equity backed or investor-led
• Confident leader of people and a clear communicator with the board
• Familiarity with the Irish market is required
• Available at short notice with a strong on-site presence
