Job summary

PeopleSource is seeking a commercially minded Finance Director to own the finance function for a Dublin-based, PE-backed business with UK and US operations. You will work with the CEO andBoard to turn financial insights into strategic decisions and influence performance across the group.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, delivering robust financial models and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting and financial control experience required.
• Proven experience leading a finance function in SME or PE-backed environment.
• Experience across budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, statutory accounts and consolidation.

Our client is an established Dublin based PE backed business, operating across the UK and US, with a diverse product portfolio spanning manufacturing and distribution. They are now looking for a commercially minded, hands‑on Finance Director to take ownership of the finance function (and some operations) and help shape the next chapter.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the business, working alongside the CEO and a very strong & supportive Board, and turning financial insights into better decisions.

You’ll have the scope to influence strategy, improve performance and shape both the business and the finance function.

Responsibilities

• Lead & develop the small finance function and provide strong financial leadership across a multi-entity, international business.
• Act as a trusted commercial partner to the CEO, Board and senior management.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and long-term financial planning.
• Provide insight into pricing, margins, profitability, cash generation and investment decisions.
• Develop meaningful KPIs and financial models to support better business decisions.
• Oversee insurance, pensions, financial reporting, controls, consolidation, statutory accounts, audit and tax.
• Optimise cash flow, banking arrangements, covenant reporting, and lender relationships.
• Strengthen finance systems, processes and controls as the Group continues to grow.
• Oversee customs & duty matters, financials on international trade and cross-border operations.

Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified accountant with strong technical accounting and financial control experience.
• Proven experience leading a finance function within an SME or PE backed environment, ideally within manufacturing and/or distribution.
• Experience working across multiple entities and/or international operations.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to turn financial analysis into clear business insights.
• Experience across budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, statutory accounts and consolidation.
• A track record of developing systems, controls, processes and finance teams.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to operate at Board and senior management level.
• A pragmatic, hands‑on approach and the ability to move comfortably between strategic priorities and operational detail.
