Job summary

ACCPRO's client in Ireland seeks a Head of Finance to lead the finance function as number one, combining hands-on control with strategic growth as M&A activity expands the business.

You will oversee statutory reporting, group consolidation readiness, cash forecasting, and KPI dashboards, manage a small AP/AR team, and drive process automation using AI/BI tools.

Qualifications

• Qualified and technically strong accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with minimum c. 5 years' PQE in industry.
• Experience in a controllership or financial operations role with strong Irish GAAP and group reporting.
• Hands-on in a small finance team, proactive work ethic, and appetite for automation using AI/BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee statutory, financial reporting, period-end close, tax and VAT for local entity and prepare for group consolidation.
• Lead M&A activity as the group expands in Ireland.
• Manage a small AP/AR team and drive process improvements, automation, and digitalisation.
• Prepare KPIs and dashboards; present results to CEO and board.
• Ensure accurate cash reporting and liquidity planning.

Our client, a private equity-backed SME is looking for a Head of Finance to join their team, sitting as #1 in the function. The ideal candidate will be technically strong, hands‑on and keen to drive the business forward as they expand in their presence in the local market through significant M&A activity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all of operational finance (statutory, financial reporting, period-end close, tax and VAT) for local entity and preparation for group consolidation to European HQ
• Responsible for M&A activity as Group expands their presence in Ireland
• Manage a small team across AP/AR
• Improve on existing structures to modernise the finance function (process improvement, automation, digitalisation)
• Prepare KPIs and dashboards, presenting results to CEO and board
• Ensure accurate and timely cash reporting, monitoring liquidity planning

Key Skills:

• Qualified and technically strong accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with minimum c. 5 years' PQE in industry
• Experienced in a controllership or financial operations role (strong Irish GAAP and Group reporting essential)
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on role within a small Finance team (driven, pro-active in work ethic)
• Keen to use automation (AI/BI) tools to modernise and improve reporting, processes etc
• Structured thinker and problem solver with strong communication skills
