Job summary

Research Ireland is hiring an Innovation Manager on a 3-year fixed-term contract to lead innovation initiatives that activate entrepreneurial researchers and translate research into economic and societal impact.

The role focuses on designing and managing the National Spin-out Activation Programme and collaborating with academia, government, industry and investors to accelerate venture creation and growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in research commercialisation and venture creation.
• Experience working with technology transfer and innovation policy.
• Proven ability to manage programmes or portfolios and engage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead establishment and ongoing management of the National Spin-out Activation Programme.
• Support delivery of actions in Research Ireland's Strategy.
• Identify gaps to strengthen innovation pathways and translation of research outcomes.
• Contribute to policy development on innovation and commercialisation.
• Monitor best practices in research translation and university spin-out creation.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen Ireland's innovation ecosystem.
• Prepare business cases and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Develop frameworks to assess programme effectiveness and impact.
• Use evidence to inform future programme development.
