Job summary

Research Ireland seeks a Programme Officer to deliver high-quality operations across the full lifecycle of calls and grants. You will manage day-to-day activity, ensure governance, and engage with researchers and stakeholders to support ambitious programmes and the Rinn Network.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline or equivalent research track record.
• At least three years in research, innovation, funding, programme management or related field.
• Strong documentation, compliance and audit trail experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operational activity for allocated calls, awards or programme processes.
• Oversee peer review processes: planning, logistics, queries and quality control.
• Handle post-award administration: monitoring, deliverables, reporting and compliance.
• Maintain programme data quality in grant management systems and reporting tools.
• Draft, update and quality-check programme documentation and communications.
• Identify operational risks and propose mitigations; escalate material issues.
• Support stakeholder communications with clear, professional messaging for applicants, reviewers and partners.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce admin burden and improve consistency.
• Operate in line with Research Ireland policies and agreed service standards.
