Job summary

Intact Insurance Ireland DAC is seeking an Injury Claims Handler to manage injury and liability claims from our Galway office. The role offers hybrid work options following a training period and requires strong claims knowledge and client interaction skills.

You will handle reserving, settlements and customer communications while working within your claims handling license. Familiarity with the Irish insurance market is advantageous.

Qualifications

• CIP/ACII qualification or progress toward it is preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in Injury & Liability Claims.
• Knowledge of the local Irish insurance market.
• Work within the claims handling licence.
• Customer service experience in financial services is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of injury and liability claims and reserve appropriately.
• Steer claims toward fair settlements within authority levels.
• Refer cases outside authority promptly per procedures.
• Assess claims against criteria and engage others to protect business interests.
• Maintain courteous, timely customer interactions to ensure satisfaction.
• Coordinate with internal/external suppliers to settle claims proactively.
• Support and mentor junior colleagues to raise team standards.
• Contribute to policy wording improvements and client reviews.
• Operate in compliance with relevant legislation and company standards.
• Support departmental targets on settlements and board acceptance rates.
