Our client is a well-established Irish consultancy seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their growing IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid IT support background who is looking to develop their systems administration, networking, and infrastructure skills in a hands-on environment.
Working closely with the ICT Manager, you'll provide support across multiple sites while contributing to the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organisation's technology estate.

- Support Windows Servers, Hyper‑V, networking equipment, and end‑user devices.
- Carry out structured network cabling, patch panel management, and comms room maintenance.
- Manage user accounts across Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID.
- Log, manage, and resolve incidents while escalating where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and infrastructure records.
- Manage IT assets including hardware, software, and licensing.
- Support endpoint security, patch management, and system monitoring.
- Assist with backup monitoring and disaster recovery activities.
- Deploy laptops, desktops, printers, and VoIP equipment.
- Support ongoing improvements across the IT environment.
- 2-4 years' experience in an IT Support or Systems Administration role.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Desktop and Windows Server environments.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Entra ID.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Experience with Active Directory and user administration.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- Full clean driving licence with flexibility to travel to other sites when required.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or similar certifications.
- Experience with Hyper‑V virtualisation.
- Exposure to Cisco networking, SonicWall firewalls, or Veeam backup solutions.
- Experience with structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6).
- Basic PowerShell or Bash scripting knowledge.
- Familiarity with macOS and Linux environments.
