Job summary

Bon Secours Hospital System is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Infection Prevention & Control. The post leads IPC service delivery, policy development, and staff education to ensure high standards of patient safety.

The role requires RGN registration with NMBI and a postgraduate IPC qualification, with involvement in audits, committees and accreditation activities. A flexible, full-time roster and commitment to quality care are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with General Nursing and Midwifery Board Ireland (NMBI) registration or eligibility.
• Postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention & Control or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate infection prevention and control services in the hospital.
• Develop and implement IPC policies and procedures.
• Monitor activity and service levels for IPC across designated areas.
• Provide education and training for multidisciplinary staff in IPC practices.
• Report to committees (Quality & Patient Safety and IPC) and participate in accreditation processes.
