Auxilia Group Recruitment are hiring an experienced Industrial Manufacturing Consultant – Inventory & ERP Optimisation on behalf of our client, a well-established organisation within the industrial machinery manufacturing sector.

This is a hands‑on consultancy assignment focused on optimising inventory management practices and executing ERP system updates during a critical transition. The successful consultant will investigate the root causes of stock inaccuracies, streamline inventory control models and support operational teams with technical queries.

Key Responsibilities

System Updates & Painted Part Transition

• Lead and execute all necessary ERP system configuration updates and data maintenance related to the transition from an internal to external painting process.
• Audit current ERP inventory parameters to ensure accurate system alignment post-transition.
• Conduct technical investigations into recurring stock variances and discrepancies across manufacturing operations.
• Identify root causes (e.g., transaction timing, BOM issues, improper scrap logging) and implement system and procedural fixes.
• Partner with other teams to execute physical cycle counts to investigate anomalies in real time.

Inventory Control & Advanced Methodologies

• Design and refine the site cycle counting strategy and risk-based counting schedules.
• Update inventory replenishment models (safety stock levels, reorder points, economic order quantities) to optimise cash flow and material availability.

Technical & Advisory Support

• Serve as subject matter expert for Bill of Materials (BOM), ERP system, and inventory control queries from the production team.
• Assist with Non-Conformance (NC) system processing where directly tied to inventory variances or stock holds.
• ERP Mastery & Hands-On Execution: Proven experience updating, configuring, and troubleshooting ERP inventory modules (Infor LN preferred).
• Root Cause Analysis: Expertise in 5 Whys, Fishbone, or Lean Six Sigma methodologies applied to material flows and transaction errors.
• Pragmatic “Doer” Orientation: Able to balance strategic modelling with hands-on system updates and shop-floor problem-solving alongside production leads.

Deliverables & Milestones

• System Transition: Completed ERP data and system updates for the painted parts transition.
• Variance Fixes: Root Cause Analysis (RCA) report on top stock inaccuracies with implemented ERP/procedural fixes.
• Cycle Count Framework: Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and strategy for physical counting teams.
