Job summary

Elusav Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an In Process Inspection Engineer in Limerick/North Cork to monitor fabrication and welding during pressure vessel manufacturing. You will verify drawings, codes and procedures, and coordinate NDT across projects.

The role requires 3–7 years in pressure vessel fabrication, strong ASME/PED knowledge, and experience in in-process inspections and documenting non-conformances. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years' relevant experience in pressure vessel manufacturing or heavy fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of ASME PV Code, ASME U-Stamp, PED.
• In-process welding and fabrication inspection experience.
• Understanding of welding processes: SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, welding symbols and inspection docs.
• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS CWI desirable; PT/DPI ISO 9712 Level 2 desirable.
• Experience coordinating external NDT contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection activities per PED and ASME Code requirements across welding, fabrication, fit-up, assembly and related manufacturing.
• Check joint preparation, root gaps, alignment and weld joint fit-up before welding.
• Carry out visual weld inspections and verify acceptance criteria.
• Verify completion of required inspection stages before progressing work.
• Check compliance with drawings, weld maps, fabrication procedures and customer requirements.
• Record inspection results and report deviations from tolerances.
• Raise NCRs for defects, non-conformances and procedural non-compliance.
• Travel to client sites and subcontractor facilities as required.
• Coordinate NDT with approved external contractors and document results.
• Ensure NDT and inspection activities meet project requirements and codes.
• Maintain accurate records of NDT requests, examination results, and repairs.
• Support inspections by AIA/AI/Notified Bodies as applicable.
• Assist investigations and resolution of snags and quality issues within deadlines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in quality, safety and performance.
