Job summary

MSL Engineering Ltd is a mechanical engineering contractor delivering high quality workmanship with safety and reliability at its core. The QA/QC Project Lead will ensure compliance with client specifications and applicable regulations on site.

The role requires leading the QA/QC team, managing document control, NDT activities, and ensuring all ITPs, SOPs and weld records are accurate and uploaded to the platform. Occasional travel within Munster is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive QA/QC experience in mechanical projects.
• CSWIP 3.1 or higher and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor desirable.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary QA/QC teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality requirements meet laws, guidelines, standards and client specs.
• Lead project QA/QC team and coordinate with PM, document control and supervisors.
• Oversee NDT, weld histories, WPQR/WPS/WQT, calibrations and client test packs.

Role: QA/QC Project Lead

Role and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all quality requirements and the project quality will be in compliance with applicable laws, guidelines, standards, regulations & Client specifications.
• Ensure that the Company Quality manuals with current regulations applicable to relevant tasks are met
• Early detection, elaboration of methods & continuous improvements to prevent all products & processes on site against qualitative deficiencies
• Lead & coordinate the project quality team while liaising with the Project Manager / Turnover Lead / Document Controller / Supervisors / Engineers to ensure that activities & roles that may influence quality including document control, quality control, material control and engineering operate to the project requirements
• Ensure that the approved ITP / CQP / site specific SOP’s are adhered to (including those belonging to sub-contractors) and that the inspections are signed-off
• Ensure that the necessary training including GDP is available and that quality competency per role is managed
• Oversee the Client specified NDT / test requirements per system
• Oversee the recording of weld histories (WHS) for inclusion within test packs
• Preparation & verification of site & product documentation, according to Client requirements, in an accurate and timely manner and uploaded to the agreed platform
• Ensure that necessary items are available to complete each work phase

• Oversee that the correct quality checks are completed e.g., NDT; DFT
• Verify Sub-contractor quality items are as specified to Client requirements – monitor how their quality control is conducted
• Co-ordinate all QA / QC activities / correspondence with the project Client QC representative with good communication & regular meetings
• Monitor the welding, testing & scope of testing according to requirements of quality documentation
• Maintenance of records, interpretation of test results and proper reaction if deviations occur
• Ensure WPQR's, WPS's & WQT (matrix), calibration records (gauge / weld plant / digi-levels, etc) and material certifications MTR's are valid
• Maintain the various matrices – training, lessons learnt, calibrations, welding, etc
• Collate data for the population of key KPIs (e.g. welds / repairs; NDT stats; status of test packs / walkdowns / punches / NCRs), benchmarks, FOKs, samples of the required levels of quality are set-up prior to any new activity & communicated to & understood by Supervisors
• Monitor & track QC progress through the Project life cycle
• Maintain an audit schedule & implementation of same
• Lead internal quality audits, attend client quality audits and drive close out of actions associated with audits
• Monitor issued NCR dispositions / action & close of Client complaints
• Any other task that may be requested / delegated by the Project Manager
• Knowledge of piping isometrics & P&IDs is essential
• Semi-Conductor & steelwork modular build project experience will be a distinct advantage
• Must be willing to travel between three sites in Munster
• The ideal candidate will hold a CSWIP 3.1 or above
• ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor is desirable
