Job summary

Cental Engineering Limited in Carlow, Ireland, is seeking a QA/QC Mechanical Inspector to support fabrication and quality activities at our Carlow site.

The role involves visual inspection of welded components, verifying welds against drawings, and maintaining QA records. You will work closely with Production, Welding, Engineering and QA/QC teams using Excel and digital inspection docs.

Qualifications

• Experience with welding, fabrication and reading technical drawings is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and schematics.
• Capable of maintaining inspection records and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect fabricated and welded components against drawings.
• Inspect completed welds for compliance with project requirements.
• Read fabrication and engineering drawings accurately.
• Perform dimensional inspections and verify tolerances and alignment.
• Identify welding/fabrication defects and raise snags or NCRs.
• Verify weld and material traceability and material certificates.
• Maintain inspection checklists, QA/QC reports and records.
• Collaborate with Production, Welding, Engineering and QA/QC teams.
• Utilize Excel, Word, Outlook and digital drawings for documentation.

Cental Engineering is looking for a QA/QC Mechanical Inspector to support our fabrication and quality activities.

Main Scope:

• Visual inspection of fabricated and welded components.
• Inspect completed welds against drawings and project requirements.
• Read and understand fabrication and engineering drawings.
• Carry out dimensional inspections and verify measurements, tolerances and alignment.
• Identify welding/fabrication defects and raise snags or NCRs when required.
• Verify weld and material traceability.
• Check material identification and certificates.
• Inspect steelwork, brackets, frames, supports and fabricated components.
• Complete inspection checklists and QA/QC reports.
• Maintain photographic inspection records.
• Support FOK, client and final inspections.
• Support snag and NCR close-out.
• Work closely with Production, Welding, Engineering and QA/QC teams.
• Good computer skills are essential, including Excel, Word, Outlook and working with digital drawings and inspection documentation.

Experience with welding, fabrication and reading technical drawings is highly desirable.
