In-House Counsel: Build Our Legal Function & Contracts

Job summary

Yomali is building its in-house legal function from the ground up, a second hire in the department to take on core workload so the GC can focus on strategic work. You will own the day-to-day contract lifecycle and provide HR guidance while handling regulator inquiries and corporate housekeeping across multiple jurisdictions.

You will develop templates, playbooks, and self-service tools to empower the business, collaborating with HR, marketing, operations and product.

Qualifications

• JD and license or qualification as an attorney in the US, Canada, England & Wales, or Ireland.
• Minimum 4 years of in-house counsel experience as a generalist with exposure to commercial contracts.
• Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating a high volume of contracts.
• Knowledge of employment law fundamentals across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day contract lifecycle for commercial, vendor, procurement, and customer agreements.
• Provide HR and employment support including offer letters, policies, and discipline guidance.
• Serve as first line for consumer complaints and regulator inquiries, escalating as needed.
• Handle general corporate housekeeping such as entity maintenance and corporate resolutions.
• Build templates, playbooks, and self-service tools for routine matters.
• Partner with HR, marketing, operations, and product as a practical business partner.
