Job summary

AstraZeneca plc in Dublin seeks an Accounting Manager for a 7‑month fixed term. You will own IFRS month‑end/quarter‑end close for defined areas (intangible assets, capex, embedded leases) and lead technical accounting for capital projects, with strong cross‑functional collaboration across AZ Group Controllers.

You will also prepare APIO reporting, support impairment reviews, statutory accounting, and align US GAAP where needed, while driving process improvements and SOX controls.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5+ years post‑qualification experience in accounting/controllership.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with IFRS and US GAAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own IFRS month‑end and quarter‑end close for defined areas including intangible assets, capex and embedded leases; ensure timely, accurate outputs.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on capital projects and policy compliance.
• Collaborate with local and global finance teams; liaise with GFS to ensure complete close tasks.
• Prepare APIO month‑end/quarter‑end reporting and variance analysis; develop reporting packs for meetings.
• Support impairment assessments and standard cost analyses; investigate anomalies and assist statutory reporting.
