Job summary

QCS Staffing is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to support a world-leading biopharmaceutical client in Cork, Ireland, on an initial eight-month contract. The role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations and US GAAP reporting for a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualification required.
• Experience in a multinational organization and inventory accounting preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and work on own initiative.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and internal control environment desirable.
• Experience with an integrated ERP system, general ledger and sub-ledger processes; SAP experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close responsibilities including journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with consolidated financial reporting for balance sheet and P&L inventory areas.
• Maintain internal controls in line with corporate standards, GAAP, and SOX; work with auditors as required.
• Account for manufacturing activity including material purchases, overhead absorption and contract manufacturing costs.

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant.

What You’ll Deliver

• Month‑end close responsibilities including journal entry preparation and submission, balance sheet reconciliations, review of monthly financial results in accordance with US GAAP, and submission of close deliverables.
• Assist with preparation of consolidated financial management reporting for balance sheet and P&L inventory areas.
• Maintain internal controls in line with corporate standards, GAAP, and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Work with internal and external auditors as required.
• Accounting for manufacturing activity including material purchases, overhead absorption and contract manufacturing costs.

What you'll need

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualification.
• Experience in a multi‑national organization and inventory accounting experience is preferred.
• Demonstrate experience in process improvement initiatives and working on own initiative.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and internal control environment desirable.
• Experience with an integrated ERP system, general ledger functions, sub‑ledger processes, and period closing. Understanding of relationship of other accounting functions to manufacturing accounting. SAP experience is a distinct advantage.
