Job summary
Jacobs in Ireland seeks a Hydraulic Water Modeller to help shape flood resilience across Ireland with opportunities in Dublin, Cork or Belfast. You will develop 1D/2D hydraulic models, apply Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, InfoWorks, and HEC-RAS, and translate results into actionable insights for flood risk management.
You will work within the Water Catchment Management team on lifecycle stages from strategic planning to detailed design, with flexible hybrid working and clear career development toward
Qualifications
- Experience developing and applying 1D and 2D hydraulic models for river, urban, or coastal flooding projects.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM or HEC-RAS.
- Experience undertaking hydrological assessments and calculations.
- Ability to review and assure technical modelling outputs.
- Working towards or holding Chartered status with ICE, CIWEM or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply innovative hydraulic modelling solutions across projects.
- Lead use of Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, InfoWorks and HEC-RAS to support client decisions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client outcomes.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.
- Support technical assurance, peer reviews and quality checks.
