Job summary

Allied Irish Banks seeks a data validation specialist to join the Independent Validation Unit within Risk Assurance & Validation. You will query systems, test controls, trace data lineage and validate reporting outputs, collaborating with data governance, IT, and regulatory teams.

The role focuses on technical validation across data pipelines, with exposure to senior stakeholders and opportunities to influence risk reporting and governance practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years in data analytics, data management, data engineering or technology, ideally within financial services, audit or compliance.
• Assurance experience is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with BCBS 239 principles, data governance frameworks or banking regulatory requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery of the team’s validation plan and perform end-to-end data lineage reviews from source to reports.
• Execute detailed data validation testing, including reperformance of calculations and reconciliation across systems.
• Design and deliver data-driven testing using SQL, Power BI and other analytical tools to identify data quality issues.
• Assess the design and operating effectiveness of data quality controls, including automated rules and exception handling.
• Prepare clear, well-evidenced findings and contribute to reports for senior management and regulatory engagement.
