Job summary

Abrivia Recruitment Specialists is seeking a Claims Handler to join a client in the insurance sector. The role will manage a varied portfolio of property and liability claims at the pre-litigation stage, delivering timely and cost-effective outcomes.

You will work within a collaborative claims team, handling from initial assessment to settlement, engaging with loss adjusters, brokers and other stakeholders to progress claims and support strong customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum CIP qualified (or working towards) with relevant insurance experience.
• Experience handling pre-litigation claims, ideally with property exposure.
• Strong understanding of policy coverage and claims processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of property and mixed pre-litigation claims through to resolution.
• Assess policy coverage, set reserves, and apply appropriate claims strategies.
• Engage with loss adjusters, brokers, and third-party stakeholders to progress claims.
• Identify settlement opportunities and support negotiations to achieve timely outcomes.
• Monitor claim files to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and cost control.
• Contribute to fraud awareness and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
• Ensure all claims are handled in line with regulatory and internal standards.
