Job summary

Carbon60 in Kilkenny is seeking a Mechanical Design Lead to drive water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will lead multidisciplinary design teams from concept through to handover, ensuring delivery on time and to the highest standards.

You'll mentor engineers, review layouts, calculations and P&IDs, engage with clients and stakeholders, and push innovation across the design function in a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with 7+ years in design engineering.
• Ability to lead engineering teams on major design projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and process layouts.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams on water and wastewater projects.
• Manage projects through feasibility to handover with design rigor.
• Review mechanical layouts, equipment specs, calculations and P&IDs.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to align design outcomes.
• Mentor and develop design engineers across the team.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the design function.
