Carbon60 in Kilkenny is seeking a Mechanical Design Lead to drive water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will lead multidisciplinary design teams from concept through to handover, ensuring delivery on time and to the highest standards.

You'll mentor engineers, review layouts, calculations and P&IDs, engage with clients and stakeholders, and push innovation across the design function in a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with 7+ years in design engineering.
• Ability to lead engineering teams on major design projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and process layouts.

Responsabilités

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams on water and wastewater projects.

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Lead to join a growing engineering team delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior mechanical engineer who enjoys leading teams, managing project delivery, and driving engineering excellence from concept through to completion.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading multidisciplinary design teams on water and wastewater treatment projects

Managing projects through all design phases, from feasibility and concept development to detailed design and handover

Reviewing mechanical layouts, equipment specifications, calculations, and P&IDs

Engaging directly with clients and key stakeholders

Mentoring and developing design engineers

Driving innovation and continuous improvement across the design function

What We're Looking For

Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer

7+ years' design engineering experience

Experience leading engineering teams and major design projects

Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic design, and process plant layouts

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Water, wastewater, utilities, or process industry experience preferred
