Job summary

Morgan McKinley in Wicklow is partnering with a long-established construction/engineering business to recruit a Financial Accountant. You will prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory financial statements while supporting month-end and year-end close processes.

You will analyse results for variance, provide insights to stakeholders, ensure IFRS 15 compliance, and assist with VAT, RCT and corporation tax alongside cash flow forecasting and treasury tasks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a financial accounting or similar role.
• Strong understanding of month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Experience with IFRS 15, audit management, statutory reporting and ERP systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and support month-end and year-end close.
• Maintain the general ledger and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse financial results and investigate variances against budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and support external audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS 15 and relevant tax/regulatory requirements.
• Support VAT, RCT, corporation tax and other regulatory filings.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, working capital monitoring and treasury activities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Maintain effective financial controls and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Partner with operational teams and provide financial analysis and support.
• Contribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
