Job summary

Bio-Techne seeks a Distribution Centre Team Lead to blend hands-on operations with daily team leadership in Ireland. The role spends ~50% on operative duties (receiving, picking, packing, dispatch, system transactions) and ~50% on supervising and guiding operatives during shifts.

The position supports the DC Supervisor, ensures adherence to procedures and service levels, promotes safety and quality, and contributes to continuous improvement while not owning formal people management.

Qualifications

Fluent written and spoken English required.
Hands-on distribution/logistics experience essential.
Ability to guide and support colleagues without formal authority.
Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management.
Strong customer service mindset under pressure.
Confident IT user with ERP/CRM experience.
Flexible and proactive workload management.

Responsibilities

Operational delivery including inbound receipting, picking, packing and dispatch with system transactions.
Ensure shipments meet customer, regulatory and DG requirements where applicable.
Maintain accuracy, safety, cleanliness and organised work areas; meet daily SLAs.
First escalation point for operatives; allocate tasks and adjust priorities.
Provide coaching and on-the-job guidance; support onboarding and training.
Monitor health, safety, quality and environmental adherence; escalate issues.
Promote professionalism, teamwork and customer focus.
Support continuous improvement initiatives with supervisor.
