Job summary

The Data Act Cloud Architect role at Cpl Group requires deep cloud engineering expertise across Azure and Google Cloud, with a proven ability to lead complex infrastructure projects within a regulated environment.

You will mentor engineers, drive interoperability testing, and contribute to regulatory policy papers while engaging with government and industry bodies. The hybrid Dublin City Centre role offers a 2-year agency contract and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Cloud Services, Cloud Engineering, or related STEM field
• 3 years' hands-on cloud architecture/engineering experience
• Azure AKS, AKS-related services, Entra ID and Azure Cosmos DB experience
• GCP services experience: GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Anthos
• Multi-cloud connectivity and workload/data migrations
• Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform/OpenTofu expertise
• Networking, CI/CD, APIs, open standards and security awareness

Responsibilities

• Provide deep technical cloud engineering insights for investigations, complaints, and policy papers
• Lead the implementation of technical infrastructure for supervisory functions and data handling
• Review regulated entities for Data Act interoperability and switching requirements
• Mentor Cloud Engineers on complex documentation, testing, and compliance
• Assist with technical evaluation of switching charges and data egress fees
• Prepare briefing papers and present findings to government and industry bodies
