Job summary

ESB invites applications for a Substation Commissioning role within the HV Substations Delivery team. The successful candidate will be based in Dublin or Cork with travel to diverse project sites across the country, supporting the commissioning of HV equipment and protection systems.

The role requires a 3rd level qualification (or equivalent) and at least 3 years in HV Transmission & Distribution, with strong safety focus and the ability to work autonomously within a team.

Qualifications

• Essential: 3rd level qualification or equivalent.
• Essential: at least 3 years experience in HV Transmission & Distribution.

Responsibilities

• Assess site safety prior to commissioning activities.
• Commissioning of primary and secondary HV equipment.
• Commissioning testing of instrument transformers, power transformers and HV switchgear.
• Commissioning testing of protection relays.
• Functional verification of protection schemes against approved designs.
• Coordinate, plan and deliver commissioning projects.
