ESB invites applications for a Substation Commissioning role within the HV Substations Delivery team. The successful candidate will be based in Dublin or Cork with travel to diverse project sites across the country, supporting the commissioning of HV equipment and protection systems.
The role requires a 3rd level qualification (or equivalent) and at least 3 years in HV Transmission & Distribution, with strong safety focus and the ability to work autonomously within a team.
The HV Substations Delivery department in Networks Engineering, ESB Engineering & Major Projects is the centre of engineering design and project delivery for ESB’s Transmission & Distribution deliverables.
The Commissioning & SCS Teams in HV Substations Delivery verifies that the HV Substation equipment is fit for connection to the relevant HV system through the issue of a declaration of fitness certificate to the System Controller.
Working on a national basis, at times largely dictated by operational constraints, key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
The succesful candidate will be based in either The Sidings, Dublin or East Gate Cork, but travel to and working at various project locations as required, is a key requirement of the role

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
