Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ireland Limited is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning phase of HV substation projects from site in Ireland. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and timely delivery, with travel across Ireland and the EU as required.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, experience with HV equipment and protection/control systems, and a strong focus on Safe Systems of Work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, policies, procedures, and practices.
• Experience working in Ireland with HV substation equipment, protection, and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commissioning phase of Utilities, Data Centre substations projects with focus on safety, quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize digital engineering solutions.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment with expectations and community values.
• Prepare and review project documentation and reports.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster excellence.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of substations equipment and systems.
• Develop commissioning programs and procedures for tender and site execution.
• Ensure compliance with Hitachi EHS and Quality Policies and project specifications.
