Job description

At Bright, we are powering the digital practice of tomorrow – today.

We deliver products that help accountants, payroll bureaus, and businesses across the UK and Ireland work smarter and win more. Our innovative solutions and outstanding customer experiences enable our customers to run their businesses efficiently and serve their customers brilliantly.

We believe understanding is the difference between working and winning.

We're a fast-moving, people-first organisation, and our HR team plays a central role in keeping the business running smoothly as we scale.

The Role

This 12-month fixed term maternity cover sits within our close-knit Core HR team, reporting into the Head of HR Operations. Working with the team, you'll be the day-to-day HR support across the business, a trusted point of contact for employees and managers on everything from employee relations and HR policy to onboarding, compliance, and people processes – the core workload that keeps our people operations running smoothly.

You will thrive in this role if you have solid HR generalist experience, a willingness to work independently and you are energised by a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same.

What You'll Do
Employee Relations & HR Advisory

  • Manage probation reviews and routine employee relations matters, maintaining thorough and accurate documentation throughout.
  • Manage all types of leave including sickness absence, family leave and other entitlements, guiding managers and employees through the leave process.
  • Keep up to date with changes in employment law and flag implications for Bright's policies and practices
HR Operations & Administration
  • Maintain accurate employee records across the HRIS, always ensuring data integrity; become proficient with the system and support managers and employees with HRIS queries and updates
  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new starters, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from offer acceptance through to day one and beyond
  • Completion of day-to-day HR documentation
  • Manage the offboarding process, including exit interviews and leaver administration
  • Run the annual engagement survey process, from planning and setup through distribution, reminders, data collection, and review
  • Produce HR reports and people data extracts as required to support decision-making across the business
Projects
  • Actively support the delivery of HR projects during your tenure, which may include wellbeing programmes and process improvement workstreams
  • Explore and embed AI tools into day-to-day HR workflows, supporting the team to work more efficiently and make better use of people data
  • Assist with audit and compliance requirements, including right-to-work checks and contract compliance
  • Be curious and stay informed AI and emerging HR technologies, identify opportunities where AI tools could streamline routine workflows and share insights with the team
What We're Looking For
  • HR generalist experience, ideally gained in a fast-paced or growing organisation
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience handling employee relations matters and HR cases
  • Organised and detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple priorities and maintaining accurate records
  • A clear communicator, able to build trust with employees and managers
  • HR qualification (CIPD or equivalent or working towards one)
  • Experience with HRIS systems and comfortable working with people data
  • Curiosity about AI and emerging technology with openness to adopting new tools as part of your work.
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Exposure to HR within a SaaS, technology, or software environment
