Job summary

Dublin Simon Community, Bray/Wicklow, is seeking a part-time permanent role working 18.75 hours per week across day, night and weekend shifts. The position offers a starting rate of €17.18 per hour with a 12% allowance on night shifts. Public transport access and free parking are available in Wicklow.

Qualifications

• Level 6,7 or 8 in a relevant field with 6 months experience in similar setting.
• Or Level 5 with 12 months experience in similar setting.
• A Passion for helping people.
• Flexibility to work in an agile environment.
• Willingness to learn.
• Experience in health and safety inspections and audits.

Responsibilities

• Support the project workers and management in implementing goals and follow-up on support plan actions.
• Build professional relationships of trust with service users and residents, with dignity and respect.
• Provide therapeutic and diversionary interventions, emotional support and positive mental health attitudes.
• Liaise with housing providers, health care professionals, and social welfare; expand services as needed.
• Deliver the personal, professional and social development programme.
• Assist in managing medication/health regimes and arranging healthcare appointments.
• Process enquiries and referrals to accommodation of service users.
• Support service users to liaise with landlords and relocation when needed.
• Conduct harm reduction interventions; overdose prevention, stabilisation.
• Complete daily duties including personal care and building upkeep.
• Ensure safety, fire procedures, hazard management and building checks.
• Manage challenging behaviour and ensure adherence to accommodation agreements.
• Carry out admin duties: petty cash, records, filing, answering queries by phone.
• Ensure consistent handovers, diary, incident reports and follow-ups.
• Ensure compliance with policies: Fire Safety, Data Protection, etc.
• Undertake other related duties as assigned by line manager.
