Job summary

Galway Simon Community is seeking a Support Assistant for the Women's High Support Service in Galway. This permanent, part-time role is 32 hours per week on a rolling 4-week roster with a sleep-over liability.

Salary scale for HSE Health Care Assistants is €35,434–€44,539 pro-rata. You will work with Housing Support Officers to deliver practical and emotional supports, document interventions, and uphold health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 5 Major Award in Health Service Skills (5M3782) or Healthcare Support (5M4339).
• 1 year of relevant experience in a care setting.
• Desirable: valid driving licence and access to own vehicle for organisation use.

Responsibilities

• Clients - support clients from diverse backgrounds using a trauma-informed, harm-reduction approach to implement client support plans.
• Compliance - stay compliant with organisation policies and undertake mandatory training, routine maintenance, inspections and cleaning in line with health and safety standards.
• Service Delivery - log and record all interventions on relevant systems and communicate clearly within the team to deliver high-quality professional service.
• General - adapt to changing service needs to support clients.
