Job summary

Findlater Hotels is looking for a skilled and passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team at Eccles Townhouse in Phibsborough, Dublin. You will be responsible for daily food preparation, breakfast and sandwiches, and maintaining high hygiene standards to ensure every dish meets quality and presentation expectations.

The role requires 2 years’ experience, HACCP knowledge, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong teamwork and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Proven 2 years’ experience as a Commis Chef or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and lead junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily food items in line with HACCP quality and safety standards.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Ensure all dishes meet high-quality presentation standards.
• Minimize waste and manage kitchen stock efficiently.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff.
• Estimate daily production needs and manage stock levels.
• Check quality of raw and cooked food to meet standards.
• Assist in developing daily and seasonal menus.
• Operate kitchen equipment following safety procedures.
• Foster a positive, creative work environment focused on improvement.

Findlater Hotels is looking for a skilled and passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team at Eccles Townhouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for daily food preparation, breakfast, sandwiches, maintaining high hygiene standards, and ensuring that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet agreed quality and presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare daily food items in accordance with HACCP quality and safety standards.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet high-quality presentation standards.
• Minimize food wastage and manage kitchen stock efficiently.
• Supervise and train junior and new kitchen staff.
• Estimate daily production needs and manage stock levels responsibly.
• Check the quality of raw and cooked food to ensure it meets the required standards.
• Assist in the development of daily and seasonal menu items.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment in line with health and safety procedures.

Requirements:

• Proven 2 years’ experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience on dealing with all kind of tourists.
• Passion for high-quality food and presentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: €36,605 per year

Work Pattern: Monday – Sunday (any 5 days) 39 hours a week
