The Maryborough Hotel is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Cork, Ireland, to oversee day-to-day maintenance and preventive programmes while coordinating with other departments to keep facilities in top condition.

Candidates should have maintenance management experience in a customer-facing setting, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to manage costs and contractors effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day maintenance operations and ensure the smooth running of the building and all planned preventative maintenance.
• Oversee maintenance contractors and tenders including obtaining quotes for reactive works.
• Ensure all building maintenance related areas are well looked after.
• Strive for correct maintenance within all areas of the hotel.
• Monitor and control costs in all areas including energy-saving.
• Ensure all items from maintenance list are actioned in a timely manner.
• Carry out regular hotel inspections to identify maintenance requirements.
• Ensure appropriate quality steps are documented and adhered to at all times.
• Ensure all guests maintenance issues are handled urgently in line with agreed procedure.
• Monitor all purchasing in maintenance in line with the purchasing policy of the hotel.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Maintenance Manager’s job will involve the following

• Responsible for managing day to day maintenance operations and ensure the smooth running of the building and all planned preventative maintenance.
• Ensure that the maintenance and safety policies and procedures are adhered to and ensure all work carried out within the hotel is in accordance with the health & safety regulations.
• Responsible for managing all maintenance contractors and tenders including obtaining quotes for reactive works.
• Ensure all building maintenance related areas are well looked after.
• To strive for correct maintenance within all areas of the hotel

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• The preferred Maintenance Manager will have experience working in a customer facing environment, ideally have experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment but not essential.
• The Maintenance Manager will have strong knowledge of maintenance, housekeeping, facilities and Health & Safety standards.
• Must have previous experience of maintenance management.

• 2-3 years experience in a 4-star Hotel
