Red Chair Recruitment is recruiting a General Manager for a refurbished hotel in Connemara, County Galway. This senior leadership role oversees the full daily operations, guest experience and profitability.

You will lead F&B, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Leisure Centre and Front Desk teams, mentor department heads, and drive growth while ensuring regulatory compliance and guest satisfaction. This is a full-time, on-site position in a renowned Galway location.

Qualifications

• Significant senior hospitality management experience across multiple hotel departments.
• Previous General Manager experience is advantageous.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen.
• Knowledge of health, safety, licensing and employment regulations.
• Familiarity with Connemara and a passion for local tourism is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full day-to-day operation of the hotel, ensuring an outstanding guest experience.
• Lead and manage the Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Leisure Centre and Front Desk teams.
• Lead, support and develop department heads and staff to achieve high performance standards.
• Drive revenue growth, cost control and profitability across all departments.
• Monitor key financial and operational performance metrics and implement improvements where required.
• Ensure revenue management and sales targets are effectively supported across the hotel.
• Maintain high standards of service, efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure all property maintenance, statutory and operational obligations are completed.
• Represent the hotel at marketing, sales, industry and local events.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, licensing and employment regulations.
• Develop effective recruitment, training and staff development strategies.
• Work closely with the hotel board to deliver business and operational objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior hospitality professional to take responsibility for the full operational management of an established hotel and lead its next chapter of growth and excellence. This is a full-time, permanent position.
