Job summary

SumUp in Ireland is seeking an experienced, field-based new business hunter to drive net new revenue through payments and full POS solutions for Irish SMBs, with a strong focus on hospitality.

This role suits someone who can prospect, uncover customer needs, deliver high-quality demos, and build a clear value case, all within a short sales cycle. You will own your territory end-to-end, including self-generation, pipeline management, pricing, and closing, with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' proven B2B new business field sales experience.
• Most recent role focused on new business acquisition.
• Proven experience selling into SMB customers within a defined territory.
• Experience selling merchant services, payments and/or POS solutions is highly desirable.
• Other technical or hospitality-related field sales backgrounds will be considered.
• Self-starter with excellent organisational skills.
• Full Irish driving licence (or full licence valid for working in Ireland).

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through field prospecting, cold outreach and local networking.
• Sell SumUp's payments and POS solutions to SMB merchants, especially in hospitality.
• Target established businesses (€25k+ monthly TPV).
• Run discovery conversations to understand operations and opportunities.
• Deliver tailored product demonstrations across POS and payments.
• Lead pricing discussions and close using a consultative approach.
• Manage pipeline, forecasting and activity per SumUp standards.
• Leverage referrals from merchant base and local network.
