Job summary

The Office of Public Works (OPW) invites applications for Heritage Digitalisation Manager in the Heritage – Visitor Services unit, based in Georges Quay Dublin. This role blends strategic digital leadership with hands-on delivery to advance digital services for our heritage sites.

You will direct end-to-end digital projects, manage budgets and timelines, and ensure adherence to data protection and accessibility policies while supporting staff development and cross-unit collaboration across OPW.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in digital transformation and project management is essential.
• Experience with ICT project management and systems integration is required.
• Proven staff management experience is necessary.
• Hold a Level 7 NFQ qualification in an appropriate subject (Business Development, Project Management, IT, Digital Communications, etc.).
• Experience with public procurement directives and financial guidelines is desirable.
• Valid full driving licence (Category B & W) is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, maintain, and improve digital applications and services in Visitor Services, including online booking, counters, website content, CRM, and reporting.
• Identify solutions to enhance the visitor digital journey and streamline site-level processes.
• Develop project plans with budgets, risks, milestones, and deliverables; manage timelines.
• Lead end-to-end digital projects from scoping to delivery and governance.
• Provide regular progress reports on budgets, risks, and resource use.
• Create corrective action plans to realign projects with goals and timelines.
• Collaborate with OPW ICT colleagues to adapt business processes for new software.
• Manage third-party relationships and technology selections with a focus on cost, security, and usability.
• Represent Heritage Services in ICT/digital project groups and teams as required.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, accessibility, and other policies; maintain change management processes.
• Produce materials for project meetings and dashboards; monitor progress and learnings.
• Promote digital services (e.g., virtual tours, digital storytelling) to engage visitors.
