Search Talent, partnering with a construction contractor, seeks a Health & Safety Manager to lead the H&S function across Ireland and Europe. This senior role oversees a team of H&S Advisors and partners with senior management to raise safety standards across multiple projects.

You will drive policy, training, audits and continuous improvement while coordinating safety resources for cross-border delivery. The position requires travel across Ireland and Europe.

Qualifications

• Senior-level Health & Safety leadership experience in construction.
• Strong knowledge of H&S legislation, risk management and safe systems of work.
• Experience managing or supervising Health & Safety Advisors/Safety Officers.
• Experience supporting multiple projects across jurisdictions is advantageous.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel to Ireland/Europe.

Health & Safety Manager – Ireland & Europe

Construction | Group-Level Role | Ireland & European Projects

Search Talent is partnering with an established and growing construction contractor to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead its Health & Safety function across projects in Ireland and Europe.

This is a senior leadership position offering responsibility for H&S strategy, standards and performance across a growing portfolio of construction projects.

You'll lead and support a team of Health & Safety Advisors, work directly with senior management and project leadership teams, and play a key role in maintaining and developing the company's safety culture as its Irish and European operations continue to expand.

The Role

Reporting directly to senior management, you will have overall responsibility for coordinating Health & Safety across the business.

This isn't a single-site H&S position. You'll work across multiple projects and locations, providing leadership to the wider safety team while ensuring consistent standards, systems, training and compliance throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and mentor Health & Safety Advisors working across multiple construction projects.
• Provide senior-level H&S advice and support to management, project teams and employees.
• Drive consistent Health & Safety standards across Irish and European operations.
• Oversee site inspections, audits, risk assessments, method statements and corrective actions.
• Monitor H&S performance across projects and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Work closely with Project Managers and site management teams to ensure safe systems of work are embedded throughout project delivery.
• Take overall responsibility for employee H&S training, competency and certification requirements.
• Ensure new starters receive all required inductions, training and certification.
• Manage the company safety training matrix and ensure qualifications and certifications remain current.
• Monitor certification expiry dates and coordinate refresher training and renewals.
• Ensure accurate records are maintained for training, inductions, toolbox talks and employee competencies.
• Oversee the company's training management system and associated H&S documentation.
• Support mobilisation of new projects across Ireland and Europe, ensuring appropriate safety systems, resources and competencies are in place from commencement.
• Produce and review H&S performance reports for senior management.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organisation.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced construction Health & Safety professional ready to take ownership of H&S across a growing organisation.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Approximately 8–10+ years' Health & Safety experience within construction.
• A recognised NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of construction H&S legislation, risk management and safe systems of work.
• Previous experience managing or supervising Health & Safety Advisors / Safety Officers.
• Experience supporting multiple construction projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Experience managing employee training, competency and certification requirements.
• Strong auditing, reporting and organisational skills.
• Experience training/competency management platform would be advantageous.
• Experience working across different jurisdictions would be beneficial.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel to projects in Ireland and Europe when required.
