We are recruiting an experienced Senior EHS Manager on behalf of a leading Irish construction contractor delivering complex, high-quality projects across a diverse portfolio.
This is a senior opportunity for an accomplished construction EHS professional who wants to move beyond simply monitoring compliance and take genuine ownership of environmental, health and safety performance across multiple projects. Working closely with senior leadership, Project Managers, Site Managers and EHS professionals, you will play a key role in strengthening EHS systems, driving continuous improvement and promoting a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.
The role will involve:
- Providing senior EHS leadership across multiple construction projects
- Supporting and developing robust EHS management systems and procedures
- Maintaining compliance with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001 requirements
- Advising project teams on Irish health, safety and environmental legislation
- Leading audits, inspections, risk management and performance reviews
- Supporting incident investigations and ensuring lessons learned are implemented
- Monitoring subcontractor performance and driving continuous improvement
- Analysing EHS performance data, KPIs and trends for senior managementProviding technical guidance to Project Managers, Site Managers and project teams
- Delivering training and supporting ongoing EHS development
- Mentoring and developing EHS professionals across the business
- Helping embed health, safety and environmental considerations throughout project delivery
What we're looking for:
- Approximately 5-8 years' senior EHS experience within construction
- A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety at NFQ Level 7 or above, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of Irish construction health and safety legislation
- Experience with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001 management systems
- Strong capability in auditing, risk assessment, incident investigation and corrective actions
- Experience working across multiple construction projects and subcontractor operations
- The leadership and communication skills to influence people at every level, from site teams to senior management
- Main contractor experience would be highly advantageous
