Prism Digital in Dublin is seeking a Head of SRE & Platform Operations to lead a cloud-agnostic Kubernetes platform build and runtime. This senior role focuses on leadership, reliability targets, and cross-functional governance rather than day-to-day coding.
You’ll manage a distributed team of 15–20 across three functions—operations, security/compliance, and customer experience—with budget authority over tooling and contractors. The role is on-site in Dublin four days a week.
Our client is a global software company whose products run behind mission-critical systems in heavily regulated industries. This role is the senior SRE and platform operations leadership seat for their managed services, based in Dublin, where you'll run the estate as it moves onto a new, cloud-agnostic Kubernetes platform. It's people leadership, not day-to-day coding: you'll lead three globally distributed functions, operations and reliability, security and compliance, and customer experience.
You'll be the right hand to the Global Delivery Lead, leading a team of around 15 to 20. You'll own the reliability targets, chair the Severity 1 incident calls, and represent the business when customers escalated. The wider operation is scaling hard, so you're building it as much as running it.
This is a rare build-and-run job. The Kubernetes platform is greenfield, nothing in production yet, and it's designed to be completely cloud and data-centre agnostic. Product ships one container and it runs anywhere, on any public cloud or in the company's own data centres, with upgrades, patching, resilience, failover and disaster recovery all handled at the platform level and invisible to the customer. You'll own the operation that keeps all of that reliable as it scales very wide, very fast.
As the Global Delivery Lead's right hand, you'll run three functions and a team of around 15 to 20, with real budget authority over tooling and contractors. The operation is growing fast, so you'll shape how it's hired, built and structured from the ground up. The roadmap is ambitious, with major new products moving onto the new estate over the next couple of years.
