Job summary

Morgan McKinley seeks a Head of People to lead HR and Recruitment across multiple sites. You will shape the people strategy, partner with senior leadership, and own governance, performance, and talent development as the organisation scales.

The role demands a commercially minded, pragmatic HR leader who can build systems, coaching capability, and succession pipelines while aligning with regulatory requirements and GDPR.

Qualifications

  • Significant senior HR leadership experience at director level.
  • Experience leading HR teams in sizeable multi-site organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and employee relations.
  • Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare or HSE.
  • Strong HR governance, compliance and GDPR.
  • Experience in management development and talent development.
  • Strong recruitment and workforce planning experience.
  • Commercially minded and pragmatic HR approach.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills.
  • Able to partner with operational managers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the HR and Recruitment functions, including the HR Manager and Recruitment Manager.
  • Develop and implement a practical HR strategy aligned with business growth.
  • Act as a trusted HR adviser to senior leadership and operational management.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, absence and employment matters.
  • Strengthen HR processes, policies, systems and governance as they scale.
  • Lead initiatives around succession planning, internal progression and management development.
  • Provide strategic oversight of recruitment, workforce planning and talent pipelines.
  • Review and improve HR systems, reporting and processes, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate.
  • Maintain oversight of GDPR, employment compliance, safeguarding and HR governance.
  • Use workforce data and insight to support senior-level decision making.

An exciting role has arisen for an experienced Head of People to join a growing, multi-site organisation at an important stage of its development.

This is a newly created senior leadership role, reporting to the Managing Director, with responsibility for leading the HR and Recruitment functions and developing the people strategy.

This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a growing HR function, working closely with senior leadership and helping shape the people infrastructure, culture and talent strategy for the next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Significant senior HR leadership experience at HR Director, Head of HR or equivalent level.
  • Experience leading HR teams within a sizeable, multi-site or people-intensive organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and employee relations.
  • Experience operating within a regulated environment such as healthcare, nursing homes, hospitals, HSE, childcare or a similar sector.
  • Strong understanding of HR governance, compliance and GDPR.
  • Experience in management development, succession planning and talent development.
  • Strong recruitment and workforce planning experience.
  • A commercially minded and pragmatic approach to HR.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills.
  • Someone who is approachable, practical and comfortable partnering with operational managers.
