Job summary

Teamworx is seeking a commercially driven General Manager to lead a busy venue. You will own the P&L, drive sales and margins, and lead a team to deliver great service daily.

You will be hands-on on the floor while maintaining a firm grip on numbers, budgeting, forecasting and reporting to the owner. This role requires a proactive leader with strong Irish licensing and safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years as a General Manager or senior manager in a high-volume bar or bar and restaurant.
• Proven track record of driving business growth with measurable sales figures.
• Strong commercial awareness with hands-on P&L ownership and margin understanding.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting and reporting to owners or senior management.
• Visible, hands-on leader who motivates teams and maintains high standards.
• Knowledge of Irish licensing, health and safety, and food safety requirements.
• Experience in a suburban or destination venue with food, drink and events.
• Background in a pub group or multi-site operation.
• Experience with EPOS, stock management and rota systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the venue P&L with weekly reporting on sales, GP, wages and controllable costs.
• Drive sales growth through pricing, promotions, events and higher spend per head.
• Achieve GP targets on food and drink via menu engineering and supplier terms.
• Manage wage costs by building rosters around trading patterns and demand.
• Set budgets and forecasts with the owner and report against them.
• Lead from the floor, set service standards and customer experience.
• Recruit, train and develop the team and build a strong management structure.
• Grow local and visitor trade through events, live music, bookings, social media.
• Build loyalty, protect online reviews and encourage repeat visits.
• Put clear systems and routines in place for consistent shifts.
• Manage stock, ordering, cash control and supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, HACCP and alcohol serving.
