Job summary

Timoney is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our design teams in Navan, Ireland, contributing to next generation off-road hybrid electric vehicles. You will assist in analysing vehicle performance, selecting propulsion components, and electrifying mechanical drivetrains across projects.

The role involves designing high/low-voltage circuits, wiring harnesses, and vehicle network integrations, with hybrid working policy in place and collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (or significant, directly relevant experience) is required.
  • Experience developing software using MATLAB, Simulink or C/C++.
  • Experience using CAD systems such as SolidWorks or Visio.
  • Strong design and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Self-starter who can work in a team environment.
  • Interest in vehicles and product development.
  • Strong communication with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse vehicle performance in MATLAB, Simulink, Adams (or equivalent).
  • Calibrate vehicle control parameters.
  • Determine propulsion and power distribution requirements and select components.
  • Electrify driveline systems including axles, steering and suspension.
  • Design high and low-voltage circuits using 3D or schematic modelling software.
  • Design wiring harnesses for conventional and hybrid driveline systems.
  • Select electrical components and ensure installation meets standards.
  • Work on vehicle networks including CAN and hardware signalling.
