Job summary

Timoney Dynamic Solutions Limited in Navan, Co. Meath, seeks a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join design teams for next‑generation off‑road hybrid electric vehicles. You will support propulsion, power distribution and HV/LV circuit design, with exposure to vehicle networks and wiring harness development.

You will work with MATLAB/Simulink, CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Visio, and collaborate across Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Finance on multiple projects.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering (or significant, directly relevant experience).
• Experience using MATLAB, Simulink or C/C++.
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Visio.
• Strong design and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work in a team.
• Interest in vehicles and product development.
• Strong communication across Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Finance.

Responsibilities

• Analyse vehicle performance using MATLAB/Simulink, Adams or equivalents and calibrate control parameters.
• Determine propulsion and power distribution needs and select components (inverters, motors, batteries, engines).
• Electrify mechanical driveline elements including axles, steering and suspension.
• Design high/low‑voltage circuits using 3D or schematic modelling tools.
• Design wiring harnesses for conventional and hybrid drivelines.
• Select electrical components and ensure installation/operation meet standards.
• Work on vehicle networks (CAN) and hardware signalling.
• Perform other tasks as directed by your manager.

Due to continued expansion, including exciting electrical and hybrid technology projects, Timoney is now looking hire an Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our team designing next generation off road hybrid electric vehicles.

The Role

Timoney is seeking an Graduate Electrical Engineer to work as part of our design teams on internal and client projects. We develop all aspects of vehicle suspension, driveline, and powertrain systems. Timoney operates hybrid working policy.

The successful candidate will be expected to assist the design team to:

• Analyse vehicle performance in MATLAB, Simulink, Adams (or equivalent) and calibrate vehicle control parameters.
• Determine vehicle propulsion and power distribution requirements and select appropriate components including inverters, motors, power converters, batteries and engines.
• Electrify traditionally mechanical driveline systems including axles, steering and suspension systems.
• Design high and low-voltage circuits based on customer specifications using 3D or schematic modelling software.
• Design wiring harnesses for conventional and hybrid axle and driveline systems.
• Select electrical components and ensure that their installation and operation conform to standards and customer requirements.
• Work on vehicle communication networks including CAN and hardware signalling.
• Other tasks as designated by your manager.

The Person

• A degree in Electrical Engineering (or significant, directly relevant experience) is required.
• Experience in developing software through MATLAB, Simulink or C, C++
• Experience using one or more of the major CAD systems (SolidWorks, Visio).
• Strong design and problem-solving skills.
• Motivated self-starter who will also be able to operate in a team environment.
• An interest in vehicles and product development.
• Strong communicator with the ability to work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Finance.
